How it works

Post a case. Get answers. Mark it solved.

CaseHelp puts your case in front of advisers who have placed one like it. Here is how it works, from sign-up to solved.

1

Join and get checked

Sign up with your name, work email, FRN and IRN. We check your IRN against your firm on the FCA register. Admin staff and trainees join through someone at their firm who is already checked.

2

Get your handle

Once you are live, you get a random handle such as Quiet Falcon. This is the only name other users see. You can add your years of experience or a specialist area if you want to.

3

Post a case

Write a short title and the facts. Pick a product type. The app checks for client details and shows you solved cases like yours before you post.

4

Get replies

Advisers reply with lenders, insurers and tips. You get a note when someone replies. Upvote the replies that help.

5

Pick the best answer

When you have your answer, pick the best reply and mark the case as solved. The adviser who helped earns a solved case on their profile.

6

Help others

Follow the product types you know best. Answer cases when you can. Search solved cases any time you get stuck.

Anonymity

Checked by us. Hidden from everyone else.

We know who you are, so everyone on CaseHelp is a real adviser or a real member of staff at a firm. But other users never see your details.

  • Other users see your handle and badge only
  • Your name, firm, IRN and email stay private
  • Region and firm size are off unless you turn them on
  • Use a one-off handle for a case you want kept apart
  • Only our platform admin can see who you are, and only to deal with a report. Every look-up is logged

How we keep it useful

Report a post

Any user can report a case or reply. Posts with enough reports are hidden until we check them.

Talk about lenders fairly

You can talk about lenders and insurers openly. Abuse of named people is not allowed.

No selling in posts

No adverts or recruiting in cases or replies. Sponsored posts are always labelled.

FAQs

Common questions

Who can see my name?

No one. Other users only see a random handle, such as Quiet Falcon, and a badge such as Verified adviser. Your name, firm, IRN and email are never shown to other users.

Can I post without my usual handle?

Yes. For a case you would rather keep apart from your profile, you can post under a one-off handle. It is not linked to your usual handle on screen.

Can I post medical details for a protection case?

Yes, but only in general terms. For example: type 1 diabetes, good control, age 38. Leave out anything that could link a condition to a person.

What happens if someone posts something they should not?

Any user can report a case or a reply. Posts with enough reports are hidden until we review them. We remove posts that break the rules and can warn or suspend users.
